My morning and evening beauty rituals are such an important part of my day especially because they include so many of my daily self-care rituals – like my morning elixir and dry brush and evening dark chocolate and facial massages. These rituals change depending on my mood and the season but one things for certain, they always help me slow down, enjoy life, and stay in the moment.

I care deeply about my skin and that means not only what I put on my skin but what I put in my body. It pays to spritz your face with hydrating hydrosols but is even better when you pair that with beauty foods. I incorporate these three spring beauty recipes in my my daily rituals to nourish my skin from the inside out – they are filled with superfood ingredients that replenish and feed your gut and skin, like antioxidant rich goji berries, probiotic filled coconut yogurt, and mood-lifting cacao. These recipes are all inspired by Jurlique and for them, beauty also starts on the farm. They grow many of the organic and biodynamic ingredients used in their natural skincare right on their farm – like roses, marshmallow, calendula, lavender, and chamomile.

I already use so many of the ingredients they grow on their farm in my beauty food recipes, and these are three of my favorites that I’ve been inspired to make for spring that have quickly become daily rituals that my body and skin look forward to.

Ingredients

Everlasting Goji Latte

The ultimate beauty foods packed into one latte. Sip on every morning (or evening!) for best results and spritz with rose mist to hydrate throughout the day.

Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon goji berries
  • 1 tablespoon CAP Beauty coconut butter
  • 2 tablespoons tocos
  • 1 teaspoon rose water (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon raw honey, or sweetener of choice, as desired
Method

Pour hot water over goji berries and let steep for 5 – 10 minutes. Pour in blender and combine all ingredients until well blended.

Ingredients

Coco Citrus Smoothie

Serves 2

My favorite spring breakfast filled with notes of citrus and inspired by Jurlique’s revitalizing essential oil blend. Citrus refreshes, uplifts and wakes you up – perfect for the AM. I often add a drop of essential oil to my morning shower for an extra pick me up.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 3 tablespoons chia seeds
  • ½ cup coconut yogurt
  • 1 cup frozen mango
  • 1 navel orange, peeled
  • ¼ cup pineapple
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Top with coconut flakes, hemp hearts, or bee pollen.

Method

In a bowl, mix together 1 cup of the coconut milk, chia seeds, and coconut yogurt. Let sit for at least 30 minutes or in the fridge overnight.

When the coconut chia pudding is ready, divide between two jars. Blend the remaining cup of coconut milk with the mango, orange, pineapple, turmeric, and pepper. Pour over the chia pudding, top with coconut flakes, hemp hearts and bee pollen.

Ingredients

Chocolate Fudge

This is elevated dark chocolate fudge. Don’t get spooked when you look at the ingredients – think of this fudge as a cousin of the black bean brownie – spiked with lots of good for you super foods like cacao. Have a square before bed before finishing with a relaxing facial massage.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked red lentils
  • ½ cup coconut flakes
  • ½ cup toasted hazelnuts
  • 3 tablespoons raw cacao powder
  • 5 dates, pitted and soaked in warm water
  • 3 tablespoons raw honey
  • Pinch of pink salt
  • Top with: coconut flakes, pepitas, freeze dried raspberries (crushed), rose petals

Method

Line a small pan with plastic wrap and set aside.

In a food processor, pulse the lentils, coconut flakes, and toasted hazelnuts together until well combined. Add the cacao powder, dates, honey and a pinch of salt. Pulse again until you achieve a fudge like dough. Taste and sweeten as desired.

Add fudge to small pan and spread evenly. Top with coconut flakes, pepitas, freeze dried raspberries, and rose petals. Enjoy!
